How can green limes benefit your customer health?
01 | KNOW THE GREEN PERSIAN LIMES
Tahiti’s limes, botanically classified as Citrus latifolia, are tart fruits that belong to the Rutaceae family, averaging 4 to 6 centimeters in diameter, and have a globular, to ovate shape. The rind is smooth, firm, thin, and glossy, covered in small pores, and ripens from green to pale yellow when mature.
The origin of the Tahiti lemons is unknown, it is presumed to be a hybrid of the Mexican lemon and citron (citrus x lemon). While the name Tahiti gives the fruits a tropical reputation, Tahiti limes, more commonly known as Persian limes, are an ancient fruit from Asia that has spread across the world through exploration, trade, and immigration. During the fruit’s global expansion, Green lemon earned its exotic name after the lime’s introduction from Tahiti to America in the early 19th century.
