The flavour of the Sweet Passion Fruit or Granadilla is surprising, something sweet and very aromatic, it is rich in vitamins and minerals, water is its main component. It’s the sweetest fruit of the Passifloras family, originally from the mountains of the Andes between Bolivia and Colombia.

Juicy, sweet and flavourful Granadilla is one of the most wanted exotic fruit worldwide
The ovoid fruit, is immature green and turns yellow orange with small white spots when ripe. Its size is 6.5 to 8 cm long and 5.1 to 7 cm in diameter.
02. Harvesting
The fruit is sending once have reached an appropriate degree of ripeness. In addition to having the proper colour (between green and orange), the contents of sugars in fructose, glucose, sucrose and total solids above 14° Brix and PH below 5.

Sorting
Granadilla or sweet passion fruit is divided into three classes: Extra Class, Class I and Class II. Also, granadillas are classified according to Size Codes A-C, ranging from diameter >56 – >78 mm.

Shipping
Although Passiflora ligularis has excellent behaviour and long lifetime trip, they are shipped with the highest level of care (the fruit is sent within individual protection), and specific temperature control to preserve their flavour, freshness, texture and aroma.
- When sized by count, size is determined by the number of individual fruit per package
- When sized by diameter, size is determined by the diameter of each fruit

Thanks to our strategic geographical location and favourable climate, we produce and supply granadilla all year round.

We comply with the EU quality standards contained in Regulation (EC) No 1580/2007, which specify that imports of fresh fruit and vegetables from third countries must comply with the EU’s general marketing standards or their equivalent.
Packing
Packaging requirements differ by customer and market segment. The fruit is packed in such a way as to offer proper protection for the produce, guaranteeing the required resistance and the conditions to be transported, always maintaining quality in our products. This exotic fruit is ripened on the tree, individually protected and transported by air to Europe, Asia and Canada.
For Europe and Asia boxes of 2.5 Kg are used, i.e. for air cargo, 150 boxes (1 industrial pallet) are shipped; which equates to 375 kg of fruit.
Also, developing packing using less natural resources and helps reduce the use of water, energy and the emission of gases that cause the greenhouse effect and the production of volatile organic compounds.
Cold chain
Sending granadilla by air cargo, it’s subject to a permanent process of continuous improvement, as well as updates on new packaging methodologies, bags with special coatings and the application of controlled atmospheres, to always guarantee the cold chain.
The conservation at 7–10ºC and 86% of relative humidity, delays the maturation process and prevents the excessive dehydration of the Granadilla, which allows an estimated useful life of 20 days.

01 | KNOW THE GRANADILLA
The Granadilla or Passiflora Ligularis, is the sweetest fruit of the Passifloras family, originally from the mountains of the Andes between Bolivia and Colombia, which is the world’s leading producer of this fruit. In Colombia, it’s cultivated in the mountains of the Andes (Huila and Tolima), with an average temperature of 17 ° C, 600 to 1000 mm of annual precipitation and altitude of 1700 to 2500 meters above sea level.
Its shell takes a bright orange, yellow colour with some tones, although the texture of its shell remains unchanged even when ripe when its hue is vivid, and its aromatic smell is ready to consume.

The flavour of the Sweet Passion Fruit or Granadilla is surprising, something sweet and very aromatic, it is rich in vitamins and minerals, water is its main component. The Granadilla fruit contains vitamins A, C and K, phosphorus, iron and calcium. Half a cup of granadilla provides 33% of the daily value of vitamin C recommended. According to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) National Nutrient Database, the pulp of a granadilla that weighs approximately 18 grams (g) contains:
